You’re waiting at a bus stop in your home town. A well-mannered and well-spoken male tourist stops by and asks you for directions to places he says he had been told to visit during his stay. You offer to help him, but as the conversation continues you find yourself overwhelmed by a growing sense of unease.
Tourist- Friends told me that people are really friendly in this town…and they are right. Today, it seems that I have hit the jackpot.
Shelia- Why do you say that?
Tourist- Well, usually when I travel, I visit all the usual tourist locations that everyone visits…but today I said I would just walk around and see what happens.
Shelia- I see.
Tourist- Yeah. And to think on such a cloudy day, I would meet sunshine at the bus stop.
Shelia looks at the sky and then on the ground, but she doesn’t see one sunbeam. Then she looks at the tourist and as she looks at him he smiles. But his smile had a hint of evil sprinkled on top of his I- just- won- the- Lottery smile. Shelia looked at her watch hoping the bus would arrive shortly.
Tourist- Where are you going?
Shelia- Home.
Tourist- I bet you have a beautiful home. Do you live close by?
Shelia acted as though she didn’t hear him and pretended to call someone on her mobile phone.
Tourist- I’m sorry, I never caught your name.
Shelia- Hold on Lisa…Kim is my name.
Shelia hoped that since she was on the telephone the tourist would ignore her, but he didn’t. She walked away from the bus stop, but the tourist followed behind her. Shelia now had a bad feeling about this guy.
Tourist- Kim! You are going the wrong way. The bus stop is over there.
Shelia- Thanks but I am going to catch another bus.
Tourist- But we were having such a good time…and I didn’t get a chance to see your house.
That was it. Shelia now realizes this guy could be dangerous. She picked up her pace and headed toward a group of people. The tourist followed after.
Tourist- Kim! Why are you running away from me?! I thought we were friends!
As soon as the tourist finished his sentence, another voice shouted
Police- There he is! There’s the couch-surf bandit!
The police quickly apprehended the tourist but Shelia felt quite uneasy after the police captured the tourist. It seems that Shelia was on her way home to meet an unknown guest…a couch surfer.
Good dielogue.
SvaraRaderaI liked the structure and looks of the dialogue. With the different descriptions of the scenario and of the events taking place during the dialogue you give a real good descrition of the scene and what was going on around them.
Good job! // sophie
