E writing Assignment 3.3: Limerick

Limerick
Jack walked out on the balcony
Looked up at the apple tree
A bird made a sound
An apple fell down
And Jack’s cup of coffee was all over thee.

E writing Assignment 3.2: Ode to Gläntan

You take Master Card or Visa
Only money will please ya’
You help quench the students thirst
And put hunger in a hearse
You are in the front and on the ground
It seems like you are all around
You make us wait
We know our fate but go to you anyway
Glory in a bowl or plate
French fries or pancakes?
It doesn’t matter just give me the platter
And help me smile before the classroom chatter

E writing Assignment 3.1: Ode to The Beach

Ode to the Beach
You are always there with the wind as your friend,
with the sea as your sister you give joy to my skin,
we have much fun with your sand as the dance floor
and the disco lights is the glorious sun,
people from near and far, big and tall, old and young,
come just to be with you and listen to your stories dictated by the waves,
we follow what you say because we are your slaves,
and the stories never get old; just gain value like gold,
and even when you don´t speak you use your silence to teach
showing us that happiness is free.

E Writing 2.3: Take a Guess

Silvia: I can´t understand why you must make your point and start an argument even with people that you just met!
Alex: I do not like when people talk about things they know nothing about.
Silvia: But does your possible knowledge on a subject give you he right to degrade other people in the process?! I mean these were my work colleagues and other important people from other companies!
Alex: (Alex looks outside the window) Oh Silvia…will you ever learn?
Andre: (Andre interrupts before Silvia can answer) I thought the party was entertaining and the night was beautiful. The conversations I had were actually very enlightening.
Alex: Enlightening? From that group of wannabee -posh brainless…
Silvia: Alex! You think you are so!
Andre: (Andre calmly interrupts) Children please calm down before mom comes home. You two have been going at it all night and I have personally had enough. Now, can we sit down and enjoy a cocktail and talk?
Silvia: OK Andre. But if you were not here?
Alex: If he was not here what?
Andre: If I were not here you two would have a nice evening.
Silvia: Andre, you are such a diplomat.
Alex: She has been like this forever I assume. Time to grow up.
Silvia: I am quite ready for anything life throws my way thank you very much.
Andre: I hope you are both ready for life in two weeks

E Writing 2.2: Therapy at the Cafe’

It was 12:30 pm on a Saturday and sun was shining without a cloud in the sky. There I, Larry, sat outside drinking an espresso waiting for two friends, Jack and Mary. We had all been at the same party last night but I left before they did because I got bored since the music was not to my liking. They told me this morning that there was some unexpected happenings after I left.
Me- Over here Mary! I am just sitting in the sun drinking an espresso and loving life. Take a seat so you can get on my level…Where is Jack?
Mary- He is in the bathroom. Hard night if you know what I mean.
Me- If I know Jack, then I know how the night ended.
Mary- Well…the night had many…um…surprises.
Me- Really?
Mary- I´ll wait for Jack then we can tell you together.

After our very short conversation I became even more curious as to how the night ended. Mary got her coffee as we waited for Jack and we enjoyed the sun together. A few minutes after, Jack joined us.

Jack- Man, I promise I will never drink so much again.
Me- I heard that before.
Jack- This time I mean it. I feel like crap and I can’t remember what happened last night. I mean, I remember some things but much of the night was a blur.
Mary- You mean you don’t remember when you walked around the house with only your underwear!?
Me- What!?

Jack- What!?
Mary- Jack you took off your clothes in the kitchen, except for your spider man underwear, and began serving people drinks in your underwear.
Me- Man! I am sorry I missed that! Did people take pictures?
Mary- Pictures…Video…uploads to Youtube.
Jack- What!?...I am an idiot.
Me- No Jack. You are just you and these kinds of events follow you. Remember…
Jack- Don’t remind me.
Mary- So Larry…What did you do after you left the party last night. You had someone asking about you. You remember Shelia from the grill party?
Me- Shelia?
Mary- Yeah Shelia. Blond hair. Light-brown eyes. Loved your BBQed chicken.
Me- Oh…yeah. Shelia.
At this moment I thought to myself,” She is a pretty woman, but I just need time to myself. Larry, you just got a divorce. This is too early to get emotionally involved. But maybe you can just have a little fun?!”
Mary- She wanted me to give you her number. Do you want it?
Me- I don´t know. I am still not…
Jack- Oh come on man! It has been over 1 year! It is time to get back in the game Larry! You know! The old Larry.
Jack has known me since we were in 3rd grade and now we are 4 years removed from college. He is like my brother and has seen me at my best and at my worst. Maybe he was right.
Me- OK Jack. You are right. Sure Mary. I would gladly take it. She is good looking!
Jack- That´s my boy!
Mary- Here you go Jack. She wrote it down for you.
Me- Thanks

Right at that moment, I felt a sense of rejuvenation. Like a rebirth or awakening from a long self-inflicted loveless-comma. My body and mind had a sudden feeling of peace and hope. This was totally unexpected yet welcomed.

Me- Guys. I am so thankful to have friends like you.
Mary- And I am glad to have you as a friend.
Jack- Larry. Dude…you are one of a kind. Now on to more important things like finding another party.

Some things never change…like good friends. Thank God!

The Stranger E-Writing Assignment 2.1

You’re waiting at a bus stop in your home town. A well-mannered and well-spoken male tourist stops by and asks you for directions to places he says he had been told to visit during his stay.  You offer to help him, but as the conversation continues you find yourself overwhelmed by a growing sense of unease.

Tourist- Friends told me that people are really friendly in this town…and they are right. Today, it seems that I have hit the jackpot.

Shelia- Why do you say that?

Tourist- Well, usually when I travel, I visit all the usual tourist locations that everyone visits…but today I said I would just walk around and see what happens.

Shelia- I see.

Tourist- Yeah. And to think on such a cloudy day, I would meet sunshine at the bus stop.

Shelia looks at the sky and then on the ground, but she doesn’t see one sunbeam. Then she looks at the tourist and as she looks at him he smiles. But his smile had a hint of evil sprinkled on top of his I- just- won- the- Lottery smile. Shelia looked at her watch hoping the bus would arrive shortly.

Tourist- Where are you going?

Shelia- Home.

Tourist- I bet you have a beautiful home. Do you live close by?

Shelia acted as though she didn’t hear him and pretended to call someone on her mobile phone.

Tourist- I’m sorry, I never caught your name.

Shelia- Hold on Lisa…Kim is my name.

Shelia hoped that since she was on the telephone the tourist would ignore her, but he didn’t. She walked away from the bus stop, but the tourist followed behind her. Shelia now had a bad feeling about this guy.

Tourist- Kim! You are going the wrong way. The bus stop is over there.

Shelia- Thanks but I am going to catch another bus.

Tourist- But we were having such a good time…and I didn’t get a chance to see your house.

That was it. Shelia now realizes this guy could be dangerous. She picked up her pace and headed toward a group of people. The tourist followed after.

Tourist- Kim! Why are you running away from me?! I thought we were friends!

As soon as the tourist finished his sentence, another  voice shouted
Police- There he is! There’s the couch-surf bandit!
The police quickly apprehended the tourist but Shelia felt quite uneasy after the police captured the tourist. It seems that Shelia was on her way home to meet an unknown guest…a couch surfer.
